Teriyaki Pork Chops

Teriyaki Pork Chops

Makes 4 servings

* When broiling pork in the oven, place a foil-lined baking sheet on the rack below to catch the juices dripping from the chops.

  • 1 ½ cups teriyaki marinade (see recipe below)
  • 4 pork chops (about 1 ½ pounds total)

1. Pour the teriyaki marinade into a shallow dish and place pork chops on top. Marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 ½ hours.
2. Preheat the broiler or prepare the grill. Take the chops out of the marinade and place them on the top rack of oven or on the grill. Cook for about 5-8 minutes on each side, or to the desired doneness. (When cooked through, the meat will not be pink in the middle.)

Teriyaki Marinade

Makes 4 servings

* You can use this marinade for fish, meats, vegetables, and just about anything else you can think of. Depending on the thickness of the food, you'll want to marinate for at least one or two hours before cooking.

  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Combine all the ingredients and mix well. This recipe will keep for 3-4 weeks if kept covered in the refrigerator.

And we can't forget today's dessert, chocolate milkshake.
