We turned it on and waited.
After 20 minutes, it was still at 250F.
After 10 more minutes, it was at 300F.
... you get the idea.
So with an oven that takes about 45 minutes to heat up to 350F, it was an adventure planning dinners, having friends over (mind the electric bills too), etc. But now...
Here it is, my friends! After much waiting, the maintenance finally replaced our old oven. Isn't she a beauty?
The big burners work so well too (the two big old stoves were broken as well). To celebrate, I made this sweet meal from David's favorite cookbook.
Santa Fe Chicken sweetness. Simple, cheap, and healthy! It has now become one of our favorites.
With the rise of unfortunate circumstances such as David's lab (due to an administrative error) now being moved to Friday nights from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, I decided to schedule work then also, so we could ride home together. Although we didn't go to Gator Nights, we had our own midnight breakfast... what a great idea!
Scrambled eggs, tater tots, and toast with jalapeno-peach jam.
We are sure to gain weight at this rate.
